Suicide is one of the most challenging of all crisis interventions. Exploring the landscape of risks and the resources for helping, this training will focus on the specifics of what to look for, what to say, and what to do to create greater safety in the moments of greatest danger. Practical tools and simple techniques will be demonstrated for engaging the most resistant clients in the delicate task of finding hope in the hardest of times. A continuum of prevention, intervention, and crisis resources will be presented for use by a range of school and community based providers.
