Vermont Safe Routes to School Annual Safety Educators' Training & Conference.
Welcome New SRTS grantees are required to send at least one safety educator to the event, to participate in the WalkSmart BikeSmart training track. Additional team members in attendance are welcome to attend the parallel track. Additional breakout sessions, available to all participants will profile successful models for education and encouragement from schools around Vermont.
THIS TRAINING IS PART OF OUR COMMITMENT TO THE FOLLOWING OBJECTIVES
To promote the advancement of Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety Education in school communities by sharing best practices and unique models used in the field.
Prepare Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety Educators in Vermont’s Safe Routes to School grantee sites and beyond to implement WalkSmart/BikeSmart Vermont!
Increase the number of schools in Vermont who implement one pedestrian safety lesson (WalkSmart) in the fall, and one bicycle pedestrian lesson (BikeSmart) in the spring of each year.
To launch the annual data collection process on the reporting of participation in safety education via the implementation of WSBS.
To promote the advancement of Safety Education in school communities by sharing best practices and unique models used in the field

Cost:
$15.00 This workshop is provided by the Center for Health & Learning at a reduced cost thanks to a grant from the VT Agency of Transportation Safe Routes to School Program. Your participant fee includes the Walk Smart / Bike Smart Vermont! curriculum.
Schools with active VTrans funding are eligible to be reimbursed for mileage through the school’s individual SRTS grants. Center for Health & Learning does not provide reimbursements.
