ADAP Prevention Training

Resiliency 101

DESCRIPTION
This is an introduction to Resiliency as it fits into the Prevention field. Participants in this training will hear about the research base that supports resiliency strategies. They will explore their individual resiliency and learn how to nurture resiliency in others. This workshop will blend individual and small group work.

TRAINER *Sue Mahoney was Director of the Vermont Resiliency Network from 1995-2000. As a former Vermont Department of Education employee, Sue coordinated their alcohol and other drug prevention programs for several years. From 2002-2006 she coordinated a state-wide out-of-school time network at the Washington County Youth Service Bureau/Boys & Girls Club.

Times: Registration & Refreshment: 8:00 – 8:30am
Training: 8:30am – 3:30pm
Cost: A $35 fee includes materials and a continental breakfast. Participants should bring a bag lunch.
Registration: CEUs

This course is under review for approval for CEUs with the VADACB (Vermont Alcohol & Drug Abuse Counselor Certification Board).

This series is designed for the Vermont prevention workforce, prevention consultants, community and youth development workers, health educators, counselors, school nurses, and coalition and school health advisory council members
