BASIC N-O-T (Not On Tobacco) Facilitator Training

DESCRIPTION Not on Tobacco (N-0-T) is an evidence-based tobacco cessation program serving regular smokers 14 through 19 years of age who are most likely addicted to nicotine. A 10-session curriculum, it be delivered in a school or community setting. Based on social cognitive theory, NO-T helps teen smokers with: self-management and stimulus control, social skills and social influence, stress management, relapse prevention, techniques to manage nicotine withdrawal, weight management and peer pressure.
This training is required before N-O-T can be offered in a school or community setting. The American Lung Association of Vermont provides on-going support to trained facilitators. The N-O-T Coordinator will make site visits, offer assistance with administration, recruitment and other challenges facilitators may face as they implement the program.
MATERIALS PROVIDED The N.O.T. curriculum will be available for use during the training and for purchase for $65.00 after the training. (Cost of the curriculum can be reimbursed once the facilitator implements a N-O-T group)
