Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drugs Education (K-12)

Fulfills Act 51 Requirements

This interactive training covers: pharmacology, chemical use continuum, chemical dependency in the family, societal and personal attitudes, policy and legal issues, support and referral for students in distress, curriculum development, school climate and drinking and driving. This training will cover material relevant to grades K-12.

Trainer: Dayna Scott holds a bachelor’s degree in English and Political Science from the University of Massachusetts. She has 12 years of experience as a trainer and has been with the Act 51 cadre for five years. Her specialty areas are Addiction and the Family, Fostering Resiliency & Developmental Assets, Prevention Curricula, and Youth Engagement, a.k.a., Ways to Make Prevention FUN! She is currently the coordinator for CY-Connecting Youth.

Dates: May 22-23, 2006
Times: 8:00 – 4:00 p.m. both days
Cost:
  • Early Registration (Registration prior to two weeks of the training) $150, includes training, lunch, snacks, and materials.
  • For late registration (within 2 weeks of training) add $10.
Registration: Space is limited – register early!

A confirmation notice with directions will be emailed to each participant.

Cancellation/Refund Schedule
If a participant cancels…................the refund is:
more than 10 days prior to a training…......100%
10 days – 2 days prior to the training…..... 50%
1 day prior to the training/ no-show…....... 0%

The Center for Health and Learning reserves the right to cancel trainings.
If a training is cancelled due to inclement weather, it will be held on a pre-determined snow date. If a participant is unable to attend on the snow date, 100% of the fee will be refunded.
