Bullying and Harrassment

In the School Setting

Description

Review the core concepts and skills necessary for teaching about bullying and harassment. Through a social-emotional learning lens, the workshop will focus on curriculum, preparing school-based professionals with information, perspectives and tools they need to recognize and address bullying in the school setting.

The workshop will also provide an overview of eight state-recommended curricula for addressing this topic in schools:

Aggressors, Victims, and Bystanders
Al’s Pals: Kids Making Healthy Choices
Bullying Prevention Program (Olweus)
Bully Proofing Series
Michigan Model
PATHS (Promoting Alternative Thinking Strategies)
Peacebuilders

Although state laws will be briefly reviewed, legal mandates will not be a focus.
