When Cruel Is Cool

A Closer Look at Harassment

A bullying prevention program for middle and high schools, “WHEN CRUEL IS COOL; A Closer Look at Harassment” identifies a problem and a solution in a single conversation that serves as the start to a larger dialogue about creating safer schools. A recruitment pitch to all young people and those who care for them, “WHEN CRUEL IS COOL” invites participants to become an active part of the solution in preventing violence of all kinds. Engaging audiences in a series of thought provoking exercises, the dynamic program provides a common language to speak about hurtful behaviors when they first appear.

This one day training workshop will engage teachers, counselors, and administrators in hands-on, practical exercises designed to help build the energy, commitment and skills necessary to address bullying and harassment in school and community settings. Using stories to capture attention of students and translate the concepts of caring into practical terms, “WHEN CRUEL IS COOL” promotes a conversation that leads to action. Participants should be prepared for a highly interactive experience that can be easily replicated in classroom settings.
